Items sought for Tuscaloosa’s 2069 time capsule

The Tuscaloosa Bicentennial Commission is seeking items to place in a time capsule that will be opened in 2069.

Members of the community are asked to think of topics and items that reflect life in 2019. To add suggestions to the time capsule committee’s list of ideas, go to www.tuscaloosa200.com/time-capsule or call the Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports Commission at 391-9200.

Each serious suggestion will be taken into consideration. Deadline for submissions is Sept. 30.

All items chosen to be included in the time capsule will be hermetically sealed and dedicated during the city’s 200th birthday celebration on Dec. 13, 2019. The time capsule will be opened on Dec. 13, 2069.
