Jonathan Tilove

Jonathan is chief political writer. He will be covering his fourth legislative session. Prior to joining the Statesman in 2012, he worked for more than two decades as a reporter in Washington, D.C.



Chuck Lindell

Chuck has been a reporter at the Statesman for more than three decades. He covers the Texas Senate, social issues, gun bills, abortion and legal affairs.



Johnathan Silver

Johnathan covers the Texas House, immigration, ethics and transportation issues. He came to the Statesman in 2017 to cover the summer's special legislative session. He previously worked at the Texas Tribune.



Julie Chang

Julie reports on education policy, social service issues, health care and state pensions. She will be covering her second legislative session.



Asher Price

Asher has covered energy and the environment for the Statesman since 2006. He also covers the state budget and property tax policy.



Bob Sechler

Bob covers the intersection of business and politics. He will report on legislation to expand marijuana laws and health insurance coverage.



Ralph K.M. Haurwitz

Ralph has covered higher education for the Statesman since 2004.



Ken Herman

Ken covered his first legislative session in 1981. He is a Statesman columnist.



Robert W. Gee

Bob has been state editor since 2014. Previously, he was urban affairs editor and a reporter in Austin, Hays County and the Middle East for the Statesman and Cox Newspapers.
