HOW TO CONTACT US

Now more than ever, we at The Fayetteville Observer rely on you to keep us informed.

Coaches, athletic directors and school officials can email us at sports@fayobserver.com to ensure that we have game results and other notable information to share with our 910preps.com and print audiences.

You can also call in games at 910-486-3519 or 910-609-0651.

Game results should be reported as quickly as possible. It's customary for the home team to report, but visiting teams are encouraged to report as well.

We will accept box scores from all region teams. If you're not sure about what information you need to share, give us a call and we'll let you know. Please have players' first and last names available.

EARLY DEADLINES

This season's print coverage will look a little different.

You can find breaking game coverage and live scoreboards on 910preps.com, but our next-day print coverage of evening high school games is no longer possible due to deadlines that are earlier than they ever have been.

We will provide any information that is available to us prior to the 9 p.m. deadline, but the bulk of our football game coverage for print will run on Sundays. We'll beef up that coverage with longer game stories, more photos and statistical analysis.

In addition, we'll run prep sports feature stories, notes and columns throughout the week.

The Observer will continue to honor top performers as Athletes of the Week, both online and in print.

Nominations for Athletes of the Week must be submitted to sports@fayobserver.com by noon on Mondays. Please include the player's name, school, class and the stats or achievement for which they should be considered.

A high-resolution head-and-shoulders photograph must be submitted with each nomination.

And don't forget to follow 910preps on Facebook and Twitter for instant updates. Use #run910 on social media for retweets.

We're all set for another great season of Cape Fear Region sports.

Ready for kickoff?
