Easton announces summer events for commemoration of 20th
Easton Town Center will be celebrating its birthday with two main events this summer.
Shoppers can celebrate and do some good at Easton's 20th Birthday Party and Volunteer Fair from 1 to 4 p.m. June 30.
Participants in Easton's Change for Charity program will be at the mall to share ways that people can volunteer and and help their community.
This year's Change for Charity recipients are The Center for Family Safety and Healing, Harmony Project, Ruling our eXperiences, Furniture Bank of Central Ohio, Homeport and KIPP Columbus.
The Change for Charity project selects six organizations each year that receive proceeds from Easton's parking meters and parking tickets. More than $1.4 million has been given to local charities through this program.
Harmony Project, a community choir that started in 2009, also will be performing at the birthday celebration June 30.
The second celebration is the “Easton Celebrates 20 Years” concert that starts at 5 p.m. July 20.
The concert will feature music by artists from the '90s and include performances by Popgun, Larger Than Life and The Prince Experience.
Popgun is a group run through Class Acts Entertainment that performs covers of songs from the 1960s to the '80s from artists including the Beatles, Talking Heads and Queen, among others. Larger Than Life is a New York-based band that covers the songs and dances from popular 1990s boy bands such as the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and New Kids on the Block. The Prince Experience is a Prince tribute band led by Gabriel Sanchez, which plays Prince's greatest hits.
The concert runs until 9 p.m.
