Franklinton Farms Joshua A. Bickel | Columbus Dispatch

Given Columbus’ place in America’s heartland, it’s no surprise to see urban farms cropping up within the city’s borders. In Clintonville, Swainway Urban Farm uses organic methods to produce mushrooms, microgreens and other veggies popular at local farmers markets and in area restaurants. Franklinton Gardens was started to transform neglected lots into community spaces and now spans nearly a dozen sites that include an orchard, berry patch and teaching gardens, all to provide fresh food and education to the neighborhood. Harriet Gardens in North Linden grows a beautiful selection of produce, sold at farmers markets and in weekly market boxes.
