Thanksgiving is almost here, which means time for finalizing plans, creating menus and for some, prepping to travel.
Whether you’re flying back to South Jersey to celebrate, or you’re already here full-time, there’s still one more thing on people’s Thanksgiving to-do lists – figuring out what to wear.
Thanksgiving weather can vary from year to year. This year, the Old Farmer’s Almanac predicted an overall warmer-than-average fall in New Jersey.
Thanksgiving is expected to be filled with sunshine and cool, mild temperatures. While things may get a bit chilly, the skies will stay bright and dry, according to the almanac.
Those traveling into South Jersey can expect smooth travel in terms of weather and pleasant conditions without rain or snow delays.
Although Thanksgiving may have pleasant weather, temperatures will continue to drop throughout the holiday season, so prepare for a chilly late-December filled with chances of snow.
Donate to Give A Christmas
Feeling the cold settle in? You can make a difference for families in Burlington County by helping them stay warm and nourished this holiday season. Join Give A Christmas, a yearly campaign organized by the Burlington County Times and NJ211.
Every year, Give A Christmas raises money for families in Burlington County who may need financial help during the holiday season. These families are considered low-income and have children in their household.
Assistance is sent to these families in the form of $50 Amazon gift cards, with one per child, up to four children per household. These gift cards can be used for anything. Some use it to purchase toys, while others use it to buy winter clothes, thicker jackets or food.
Although Give A Christmas recipients must live in Burlington County, people in any location are welcome to donate.
Donors can be made via the Burlington County Times’ website to submit a donation amount of their choice. Donations can be made online or by mail.
There is no deadline for donations. Any donation made after December 25 will be used in next year’s Give A Christmas.
